We tasted this at the SITT tastings and it's complexity and elegance was a highlight of the day. NOSE Complex nose, splendid maturity, mineral aromas, ripe fruit, figs, cherries and plums, tomato jam and dried apricots, cigar box, cherry blossom, harmonious and well defined spicy hints of cinnamon, vanilla and clove. Some leather, snuff leaves and nutmeg. Musk, incense and kola nut. Base of toffee candy, and balsamic notes, fresh and elegant. Very Complex and Amazing. PALATE On the palate harmonious and balanced oak and fruit tannins, great elegance and velvety softness, with a wonderful length that is appreciated.

    94 2000 Bodegas Urbina Selección Crianza (13.5%) A wine for lovers of mature, traditional Rioja at a very appealing price, this is a super Crianza that showcases Tempranillo grapes from the cool climate area of Cuzcurrita. Bright, focused and refreshing, it has aromas of Asian spices and tobacco leaf, redcurrant and summer pudding flavours, subtle oak and silky tannins. Delicious.
